What would cause cctrl to be slow to return its results of a command execution. i.e.-
-1) Launching cctrl takes about 60 seconds for CLI to come up
-2) Typing simple command like "ls" or even "exit" when in cctrl takes around 30 seconds to return value

I was thinking it was some sort of DNS issue..but doesnt seem to be the case as both forward and reverse DNS return correctly and promptly.

One note is we dont have the connector/router running on either of the DB pair and using tungsten purely for replication at the moment.

Ok adding an entry to /etc/hosts fixed the issue. But why would this be an issue if doing a simple nslookup returns both the FQDN, Reverse, and short name DNS entries back in sub second resolution?
