Maximum Java Heap size and Max Allowed Packet size 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 1
We've recently hooked up the replicator to a larger database instance and ran into a problem with parameter settings on two fronts.

First, we blew our heap size despite having replicator wrapper.java.maxmemory=1024. We had to up it to 3024 before we got over that hurdle. Can anyone supply me with a formula to calculate heap size needed based on the Innodb transaction size?

Secondly, the replicator threw an error on THL insert because it tried to send a 141M packet when the max_allowed_packet was set to 64M. Doesn't the replicator read the MySQL properties and size its inserts appropriately?
