Multi Cluster Topologies – Composite Active-Passive

Understand Composite Active-Passive (CAP) multi-cluster topology in Tungsten Cluster, including architecture, when to use it for cross-region HA/DR, and how active and passive clusters coordinate managed, asynchronous cross-site replication with a single writable Primary.

This session covers planning and prerequisites, operational behavior, and the relay role that becomes Primary on a controlled switch between sites.

You’ll also review key configuration patterns for defining active and passive clusters, relay sources, composite datasources, and secure REST API defaults, plus why inter-cluster failover is manual to prevent flapping and split-brain in unstable networks.
