Tungsten Replicator OSS is obsolete.
Differences exist between the commercial and open source (OSS) releases of Tungsten Replicator.
While Replicator OSS may still available for download, all OSS versions of it are outdated. The OSS project is without stewardship and therefore not maintained since there are no other resources which develop or support it.
The latest available Replicator OSS version (4.0.x) does not include support for extracting data from MySQL 5.7 or 8.0. Also, the Replicator OSS is lacking many replication targets. (such as Kafka and Elasticsearch), and the existing targets have not been updated during the past several years. Additionally, newer features like data concentration, automatic heterogeneous schema translation and advanced filters are not available either.
The latest commercial Tungsten Replicator version, available from Continuent, includes the ability to extract data in real-time from all MySQL versions, from AWS RDS/MySQL and AWS RDS/Aurora, and it includes the ability to apply data into many replication targets, including AWS Redshift, Elasticsearch, Kafka and Vertica.
