We’re excited to announce the launch of new Tungsten University training sessions, now available to help users of Tungsten Cluster, Tungsten Replicator, and Tungsten Operator deepen their expertise and operate with confidence in production environments.
Tungsten University is Continuent’s structured training program designed to take you from foundational concepts to advanced, real-world architectures — all taught by engineers who build and support Tungsten every day.
All sessions are live now and can be accessed:
- On our website
- On the Continuent YouTube channel
What’s New in Tungsten University?
The updated Tungsten University expands and refreshes our training catalog across three Master Class tracks, each organized into Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced sessions. The content covers everything from deploying your first cluster to managing multi-region active-active topologies.
Tungsten Cluster Master Class
Learn how to design, deploy, operate, and scale highly available MySQL clusters using Tungsten Cluster.
Topics include:
- Core cluster architectures and topologies
- Automatic failover and zero-downtime maintenance
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, and provisioning
- Connector deep dives and routing strategies
- Composite cluster topologies such as CAP, CAA, DAA, and DDG
- Performance tuning, security with SSL/TLS, and API automation
This track is ideal for DBAs, SREs, and architects running Tungsten Cluster in production.
Tungsten Replicator Master Class
Understand how Tungsten Replicator moves data reliably across databases, clouds, and heterogeneous targets.
Topics include:
- How replication works internally, from extract to apply
- Installation, maintenance, and operational best practices
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and filtering techniques
- Using APIs and cloud machine images (TMI)
- High-performance parallel apply
- Replication into OLTP and data warehouse targets such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, Redshift, Vertica, Hadoop, and MongoDB
This track is designed for engineers responsible for data movement, migrations, and real-time replication pipelines.
Tungsten Operator Master Class
Get hands-on with deploying and operating MySQL clusters on Kubernetes using Tungsten Operator.
Topics include:
- Operator capabilities and architecture
- Deploying production-ready clusters on Kubernetes
- Advanced configurations, backups, restores, and monitoring
- Customizing cluster YAMLs and managing day-2 operations
Perfect for platform teams and cloud-native environments running MySQL on Kubernetes.
Learn at Your Own Pace
Each session focuses on practical, real-world workflows, not just theory. You’ll see concrete examples, configuration patterns, command-line usage, and operational guidance you can apply immediately.
You can watch sessions independently or follow an entire track from Basic through Advanced to build a complete mental model of Tungsten.
